Why I chose the 8000 over the 8940
After waiting for the LG VX8000 for months, when I got to the Verizon store this morning and saw the 8000 and 8940 side-by-side I almost went with the 8940 because of it's smaller size and the mini-SD card. However, after a few minutes of handling each I noticed that when using the 8940's camera it's hard to actually view the main screen due to the angle that the flip-case.
In other words, find something out in front of you that you'd like to take a picture of, hold the 8940 vertically so as to have your shot framed correctly, then notice how the 8940's flip-case doesn't rest at a user-friendly angle to allow you to view your framed picture on the main screen.
For me, that was the deciding factor.

I agree, just another reason to go for the 8000. I just couldn't justify the size even though the camera location is ghey.

Not sure if you pushed the camera out on the 8940, but you can push it out, and that will give you a better angle, if you didn't push it out, then yes the angle sucks.

Interesting. I saw a reference here last night to pushing the 8940's lens out but I forgot about that as I was looking at it this morning in the store, nor did it seem obvious to me at the time.
