Just bought it today and found out that you can't save any pix if your resolution is set at 1280 x 960!

I went to the Verizon store and played with their phone and couldnt save it pix under highest resolution either.

and no, its not because a lack of memory space. I deleted all the pics and the phone has 128mb of memory.

Called verizon and they said that I was the first person to notify them of this problem.

One more thing. I dont see any difference between the portrait mode vs teh macro mode. I dont even see an indicator telling you if you are in portrait or macro.

I noticed the same thing. No problem saving the picture on 640x480 and "fine" resolution, but on 1280x960 I haven't yet been able to save the pic on either "fine" or "normal" resolution.

Also, it's kind of annoying having to select "Save" after taking a pic, isn't it?

Also related, it tried emailing a pic from my PC to [email protected] but it doesn't go through -- I get a message on my 8000 that reads "Messge not found on MMSC." Anyone else tried this yet?

I hope thatthis is just a defect. I am going to Ireland later this month and I wanted to use the phone to take nice pics for wallpaper.

I also had the picture saving problem. I called verizon and they were no help, but I fixed it. All I did was restart the phone and it was fixed. Also I got the "Messge not found on MMSC" trying to send .midi files to phone. Anyone know what this is?

yup. I restarted the phone and now I can take pix at 1280*960.

but the interesting thing is that i restarted the phone a couple of times yesterday and it didnt fix it. I think you have to restart your phone right after you take a pic at 1280*960 for it to work.

Set the resolution to highest setting, hit OK, and then power off the phone. It happened to both me and my friend who bought the phone, and that worked for both f us.

I meant to say "File Quality" instead of "Resolution."

update

I figured out a way to take pix at 1280*960. the ONLY way for it to work is to close your phone press the pic button on the right side of the pic.

I have NO idea why

Yup, its a bug, I have the same problem. Macro is a little larger then regular and the switch on the front switches between the both.

Have had no problems like that in Mass. Right out of the box, took a picture at highest file quality and resolution and saved it without any problems.

I also had this problem yesterday. I was able to take pictures for awhile then it stopped working. Had to reboot then worked again. Must be a SW bug. Hopefully they will address in next SW release.
