LOW EARPIECE VOLUME - ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM?

Koreanphonefan

Feb 2, 2005, 11:02 AM
I have had my 8000 for 24 hours and all functions work as promised (incl. VCAST). My only problem is that the earpiece volume is very low even when at the highest setting. It is hard to hear the other person when walking around in the City. I found the sweetspot, but it still seems lower than it should be. Plus, I have above-average hearing so it seems like it could be a defective phone?

Has anyone else experienced this? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

It seemed this way at first. There is a very thin piece of plastic over the earpiece that when I removed, it sounded must louder.

Thanks, but I peeled off the protective cover as soon as I bought the phone...it did not make a difference....Could it be that mine is defective?

You are trying to turn up the volume while your on a call right? If not your just adjusting how loud the phone will ring.

🙂 I think you might have gotten a bad one. The speakre is pretty loud, I even had to turn my down a notch. Try the stereo headset, but don't forget to turn up the volume. 😎

I can't seem to get the stereo headset to work. Can't figure it out. And what is so good about it compared to a regular headset?

Did you try adjusting the setting for the earpeice volume and/or the master volume?

I went to a VZW store yesterday and compared my phone to the store's display phone when making a call. The volume level was identical, so there is nothing wrong with the phone, the volume is just not as loud as I would like it to be.

I tried the "stereo" earphones, but only have mono sound when making a call. Also, the max. volume setting with the earphones are not that loud either. I may have gotten used to how nice and loud the earpiece/earphone volume was on my SAMSUNG a530, I always had to turn down the volume...

I too have a hard time hearing through the earpiece. It is way too low. The speaker is nice and loud but who wants to walk around, or drive around with an open phone. I am thinking about exchanging for the 890 or 8940 because using the earpiece is more important to me than a speakerphone. Too bad Verizon doesn't allow more than one exchange within the first 15 days.

thats pretty funny, I just exchanged the 710 for the 8000 and love it. Since using it the past two days, I keep saying to myself the earpiece is extremely loud. I have to keep it on the lowest setting.

I tried out the earpiece that came with the phone and it is much louder, especially when using both earpieces. I was using the one that I got from Verizon with my other phone, so that may have been the problem.

Hey Motion26, I am thinking about turning in my V710 for the LG VX 8000. I like the call quality with the v710 and the expansion memory. I am worried the 8000 is not as good and I will regret it. What do you think since you made the switch?

I prefer my new 8000 to my old v710. Acutally I'm so sold I'm going to sell it on Ebay. The 8000's camera, keypad, ear voiume and everything else that's makes this phone far better then the 710. It may be bigger but sometimes bigger is better.

I think I am going to exchange my v710 especially since the bluetooth features I would use are crippled. Has Verizon crippled anything on the 8000?

im new to this forum but ive been reading it for months. i also exchanged my v710 for a vx8000 and i was very surprised how easy it was. i had my v710 since september and it was well over the 15 day return policy. i just told the rep how unhappy i was with it and she told me it was no problem returning the v710 for the new phone. it is definately worth it, the 8000 is a beautiful phone, even though it is a little large.

It sounds like the problem is your phone, take it back because mine works good too and the highest i turn it up is to medium and that is when i am outside by moving traffic.
Good luck hope they still have them in the store. Dirk
