How do I sent a picture to the phone to be used as wallpaper?

the screen is 176x220, so should be the picture... edit it, go to vzwpix.com, upload it to your pictures and send it over to your phone as a pix message...

is the 176 vertical or horizontal and there is no way to send it directly to the phone?

The screen is taller than wider - 176 is width...

try sending it to [email protected], it used to work before...
