How can I email mid tones to the phone and then set as a ringer?
i think your right, i have had the motorola v710 before and i used to send ringtones alllll the time to my phone, now it just says go to vzwpix.com and view ur message....this is bull **** and i think verizon finally caught ON!

That means that your phone has a small glitch in setting up your retrieval of pic messages. I had two phones that had this same exact problem. The first one I brought into the vzw store and had a tech play with it and fix it. The second time I was so pissed....I called 611 and did it over the phone with a tech. Mind you that it took me over 45 min on the phone with them. Call from your cell phone and then give them a land line # and they'll call you back on the landline.
You can send pics, and ringtones using the conversion mp3 to .mid. I did it on the v710, on the 9900, and on my current 8000.

OK heres how you can tell if you have a problem recieving pics.
The problem you describe is using .mid (sound),
but if your phone really just hasnt been totally set up like Im saying, than you shouldn't be able to recieve pics either. Thats how I figured out my phone was acting up, I asked someone to send me a pic and it told me to go to the pix site to view it.
send yourself a pic from the computer, or email me direct [email protected] and give me your #, I will send you a pic that I have sent to my 8000 and know that it works. I'll also send you some tunes that I have also alrteady sent.

Flip, Heres just a little proof Im not screwin with you. Someone on the a890 forum asked the same question and had the same problem as you. I told them what I told you and here's his response;

I have to wait until later, no (land line). So if i change a pic to .mid from jpeg it will come thru? how about a short flick from my pc maybe mpeg or avi? will the phone open it up?"

Well, same question that I posted, how do you get the ringtones to work thru the car kit? I also noticed that v-cast does not play thru car kit either (audio). Is this a glitch?
