Question about selling the VX8000

i have a question about selling the phone in the future. I am not going to sell the phone any time soon, but I might want to when a new phone comes out maybe. If i wanted to put the phone on Ebay, how would i go about doing this and explaining it to verizon. I have already sent in my $70.00 rebate with the UPC. does this make any difference? can the person I sell the phone to still use the phone without the UPC sticker on the box?
also, if i wanted to sell the phone soon, would I be able to sell it and get another phone at the 2 year agreement price if it was before the 30 days or would I have to pay the full retail price? thanks for your help.

You would have no problems selling the phone on eBay, I've done it a few times. You wouldn't however be able to get another phone at the 2 year agreement price. You can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Verizon would have you return the phone if you canceled your service within the 30 day trial period.

would i be able to just tell them that I lost the phone? and get another phone for the 2 year agreement price? i have insurance. they told me that I could not return the phone anymore because I had exchanged my old phone for the 8000. only one exchange allowed within the 30 day renewal period. if i tell verizon that I lost the phone and sell it on ebay, will the person that I sold the phone to be able to use the phone still? thanks.

This sounds like good old fashion theft! I think the legal term is "conversion". If VZW don't catch you, the Lord will surely know. 😲

haha no no no. im not trying to make any money off of the phone or anything. i still like the phone, but if i wanted to sell it in the future, how would i go about doing it? verizon told me that i can only return the phone once, so i wouldnt know what to do if i changed my mind and wanted another phone. because ive been thinking about just getting the 7000 instead, and saving money, but im not sure if vzw would let me. the 8000 is a great phone but it is pretty expensive.

Of course you can sell it on e-bay but just beware of the consequences after the sale.
Your buyer will contact e-bay after they find out the phone cannot be re-activated as phone's ESN # has been permanently disabled rendering the phone useless.
Then e-bay will come after you for a dishonest transaction and make refund the money to the poor individual you just lied to and also ban your account permanently.
Then Verizon will come after you for lying and consider that phone theft... I guess if you don't mind free meals and a place to stay for a while then go ahead and do it.....
