Has anyone noticed that the person on the other line always sounds choppy and distorted?? Is it just me?
...
My experience is just the opposite.
I can hear the caller just fine but, their reception of me is choppy.
Anyone?

Does your phone have the vz banner on the display? I know you think it doesn't make a difference but it does. It is the result of a #228 update. For some reason when you do #228 it seems to mess up the phone. If the banner is there well u have to live with it or take it back and tell them u want to exchange it. Very important here: HAVE THEM MANUALLY PROGAM IT............it can be done this will solve it and remember never use #228.

It is *228. Which sometimes this does help your phone. It is not all bad.
...
Well maybe for you snuff but for me it makes a world of difference.

i returned it today....and guess what i got??? v710---i must be nuts....but the sound is SOOOOO much better!!!

Pemarsh, if you’re “nuts” then I guess I, too, will have to join you in the Looney Bin, because I did the exact same thing. I returned FIVE of these phones in a two-week period in three different states, desperate to find one that didn’t have the dreaded “volume bug” (since not all units seem to have that problem). But between the “volume bug” (particularly if the phone is in Manner Mode); choppy, uneven reception; and the phone’s penchant for switching to Analog in downtown Boston of all places (unless you force it), I had had enough.
Everyone, even Verizon salespeople, tried to steer me away from the v710, and I’d done enough research to be very familiar with the litany of complaints people had leveled against that phone (cripple...

i'm glad i'm not the only one experiencing the LG6100 bugs, poor reception, and constant switching to Analog and I'm not even in rural areas. 🤭 I'm in southern california and Returned 2 of them already. it just drove me crazy. ended up with the moto v265 and very happy with it. sure it doesn't have the best screens and camera but heck, it's a much better phone - i can finally make calls and have conversation. no more saying 'can you hear me now??' 🤣

This was my very first LG phone, and it will most certainly be my last. The v710 was my first Motorola phone, and you can bet your bottom dollar that when I'm in the market for a new mobile phone, I will give Motorola's offerings for Verizon first consideration. The v710 is not perfect, but it seems perfect for me.
Speaking of "perfect," I think if you took the reception, customizability, and speakerphone of a Motorola and combined it with the user interface of an LG, the screen and multimedia functionality of the Toshiba/Audiovox 9900, and the build quality of the Samsung 670, you'd have the perfect cell phone ... but only if you could use the speakerphone with the flip closed! 🙂

I tried using VX6100 in my building's
elevator. The call drops as soon as
the doors close. My old Timeport P8767
has no problem holding onto the signal
all the way.
I wonder if this can be fixed with a
software update, or whether this is
a problem with the design itself.
...
That would be the "perfect" phone!! 😁 😁
Now, where to find it...
...
Has anyone spoken with VZ about this concern. Is there a fix in the works along with the volume bug?.
