I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with their 6255i...I bought one last week and I noticed when talking on it like 10 - 15 minutes, the phone gets very warm...I was trying to figure out if anyone else has had this problem. Also, I was wanted some opinions on how everyone feels about the sturdiness (if that's a word) of this phone...The hinge on mine, cracks, pops, etc. when folding it back.

i have problem with my 6255i after 3 weeks of purchasing it and the problem had to do with the software. it started developing static noise then when pressing the keys the phone was not responding to any function. for example i press o it displayed 8 if i pressed the end key it showed to create a message. i tell you i sent the phone for repair because was still under the warranty like 3 weeks ago and so far nokia has not sent the phone back to me and it was supposed to be returned in a 5-7 business day time frame, that time limit already ended and i'm still waiting for my phone. i regret the purchase of that phone and i would never consider buying another nokia product again because customer service is a crap and they don't know about their...

Hey gandalf and maximus! See? The phone has problems- that's why USCC hasn't released it yet! It's not a vast conspiracy to prevent you from having the phone you want.

I'm leaning more and more towards the Motorola V710. But I just wish USCC would sell the V710's big brother, the E815. Any possibility of that??
The V710 has a big beautiful inner screen and a great speaker-phone. Plus, unlike the Nokia, it has options for backlighting and keypad lighting. I wish it had the keypad design of the E815.

I hate Motorola ive had the worst experiences with it and every1 who I know hates them..Even people at the carriers have told me that Motorola has probs.
...
I'd have to agree there... my friend's Moto V265 gave up the ghost after only 9 months, and apparently a LOT of ppl are having the same problem.
She's said "never again" to Moto, and I don't blame her at all. 😕
...
I've owned at least 4 Motos. Never had the least bit of a problem. While my LG's and Nokia's were falling apart, my Moto's took a lickin' and kept on tickin'. As an example, the hinges are cracking on everyones new Nokia 6255i.
...
Sorry, but after the V265 debacle, I'll take my chances with Nokia or Samsung. Even if Moto does make some reliable phones (and why didn't they make the V265 reliable? that kind of doesn't show much respect for the customer), they don't really have anything right now I'd want... the E815 is simply too big.

I am leaning more and more towards the v7 evryday, I was going to get that Nokia but with all the issues I ahve heard the phones have had with other carriers and in testing I don't think I would want it. The v710 is easy is an all around great phone plus it is a MOTOROLA, their phones are some of the best on the market. i would like to see what LG comes out with as far as a Bluetooth style phone and equipment.

I haven't had any problems yet, but the software seems to work great on mine. It's very fast and responsive, and so far, absolutely no quirks. The only thing I see is with the hinge, etc. I don't like phones that pop, crack, etc.

You just happen to the one out of one thousand that got the bad one. I have been using Nokia phones for years and it has been great. It must have gotten the lemon one. 😎 😡 Can't win them all!
...
MY FIRST PHONE WAS A NOKIA AND I TELL YOU IT WAS A VERY RELIABLE PHONE AND I'M NOT SAYING THIS PHONE IS BAD, WHAT I MEANT IS BECAUSE OF THE WAY NOKIA C.S. HAS HANDLE MY PROBLEM I'M NOT PURCHASING ANY OTHER OF THEIR PRODUCTS. IT'S MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND THIS IS HOW I FEEL. IF YOU WERE IN MY SHOES YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND. WHAT WOULD THINK IF YOU SEND YOUR PHONE FOR REPAIR EXPECTING TO GET IT BACK WITHIN 5 TO 7 BUSINESS DAYS ACCORDING TO THE WARRANTY AND IT'S BEEN A MONTH AND THE PHONE IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
...
What phone are you using in the interim? Did Nokia send you a temporary phone to use as part of its warranty repair service? Or are you just without a phone until your repaired phone returns?
...
believe it or not it's going to be a month next friday and they have not send me any phone while they repair mine. i'm wihout a phone while still paying to my wireless carrier for service ( verizon ). so that is the kind of service nokia is providing to me. something that was supposed to be done within 5 to 7 business, it's become longer without any acceptable explanation.
...
Moto had mine for 3 months when it crapped out.

Well,I must tell everyone on this site that the Nokia 6255i is the worst phone ever made. I had mine for a week and the battery had to be charged alot and the hinge started cracking. I lost the silver pin that goes in one end. I took it to two Alltel stores and they accused me of dropping the phone or sitting on it, which neither happened. They were the most rude people I have ever dealt with. They wouldn't give me a new phone. I had to buy another one because I didn't have insurance on the first one. ALso, the phone just quit working after 6 weeks. They said that there was nothing they could do. So......needless to say I bought another phone for $250.00, with insurance this time. I will never have another 6255i, which I had to buy because t...

Although I often criticize U.S. Cellular for their embarrassing line-up of phones, I must say, you would NOT have been treated so poorly and you WOULD have been given a new phone for free at USCC.
...
I've had no issues since I got the latest firmware. The hinge did crack on my first phone but Cellular South replaced it with a new phone that had the latest FW loaded-- since I've been nothing but pleased.
...
Is there another way of getting a firmware update besides getting a new phone? Something I can do on my own?
...
April 7th I think was the day the phone was launched 😉

My original 6255i never seemed to get great battery life (maybe 2 days with full signal) and about two weeks after getting it I noticed that the keypad backlight would never go out (lit all the time 24/7). I took it back to my service provider (ACS - Alaska regional) and they sent it in for repair. The replacement phone works great, battery lasts nearly a week (standby w/full signal) and things are good. Other than that minor hiccup, I love this phone. Bluetooth file transfers works great, even in linux!!! Wonder if the same can be said for the v710???

Too lazy to read the other responses so i will just let you know what i know.
The phone shouldn't get warm. If your company has a repair center have them look at the phone to make sure it is okay.
the hinge is kinda floppy cause there is alot of junk crammed into the front flap. it is crackly and squeaky on all that i have handled and i have handled about 200 of them. i sell them.

Mine Does the same thing when I am on it for about the same time frame....other than yhat no other problems with this Phone....as far as the rest of the noises... maybe I am just deaf enough that I just don'r hear it more than likely I just don't pay attention to it anymore.
...
What other problems are these phones having. i am wanting to get it.
