6256i variant for Verizon

The Nokia N90 is a GSM phone not CDMA phone so it will not work on Verizon, US Cellular, Sprint PCS networks.

Fine...so when will the 6256 actually BE in the Verizon stores? Does anyone know?

God knows, but it is officially slated for '3rd quarter, 2005'.

So knowing Nokia and Verizon, that means 11:59PM, September 30th. 😛

Just learned late yesterday that the Verizon version of the phone will NOT carry an mp3 player. Seems Verizon wants to sell their "vcast over DO", according to a Nokia representative. I'm trying to find out if the nTelos or Alltel version of the same phone will take the Verizon download. All three are CDMA, and the other two have the mp3 player. It's a heck of a lot easier for me to slap a MMC card into the phone, connect a data cable to my computer, and download the things I like. It IS, after all, a phone, and the more uses you make of it, the faster the battery runs down. BTW, I haven't seen anything in the way of an extended battery for this phone...has anyone else? My main reason for wanting to use this particular handset is for ...

Being that the first time I saw this phone posted, it's release date was listed as 4th quarter, 2004...well, the release date doesn't mean a whole lot (to say the least).

That does sound ghastly. However, things may FINALLY be looking up... apparently the call-out cards for the 6256i have started showing up for the VZW corp stores:

Not much, but apparently call-out cards for it have started arriving at the VZW corporate stores, along with cards for the 6256i:
