6256i contact list limit - can someone please verify?

I was reading the 6256i user guide on the Nokia site (different than the user guide on Verizon's site by the way), and it says the 6256i has a limit of 500 contacts. Phonescoop says the the contact list uses shared memory, which to me means as many contacts (synched with Outlook in my case) that can be held in memory.

Can someone give a definitive answer? This is a major factor for me.

Thanks

typically its about 500, but with multiple enties per name it could be less, it is shared memory. Each contact can hold 5 or more items in it

Not correct. It will hold 500 contacts, regardless of how many numbers. Believe me, I spent hours with it, talking to a Nokia tech. I added/subtracted to my Outlook, and every time I synched, it took 500 contacts.
It's unreal the amount of misinformation on these boards.

Yes - I have over 1000 contacts in Outlook, and the synchronization stopped exactly at 500 every time. The phone indicated 0% memory free (for contacts).

Thanks - it's looking more and more like I need a PDA phone. Maybe the Moto Q, will have to see how big the keys are.
