Bluetooth Headset Failure?
When making an outgoing call (I do the dialing) the headset works fine: I can hear who I called and they can hear me. When accepting an incoming call, I can hear the caller, but they cannot hear me. Sometimes I am told they can hear me but I sound like I am so faint that I must be standing far away from the mic.
I have tested this with two different BT headsets (the Nokia HDW-2 and the Motorola HS810) and several different callers using both cell to cell and cell to landline connections. Both headsets have the same issue, which leads me to believe the problem is with the HP and not two different headsets.
In addition, I tested with the same callers using the wired headset that comes with the HP as well as no headset at all. In both of those cases incoming and outgoing calls worked fine (the caller and I could both hear each other perfectly) so this seems to be limited to the use of BT headsets only.
This is a crucially bad thing. Working to get another device to see if this is true to just my unit or something that is a fault endemic to all HP units.
I'm sure this is a software issue that could be fixed with a patch. I just hope they get to it quickly or it could really harm this unit's sales.
Forget the fact that the unit's signal reception strength in weak areas is horrible when compared to my Nokia 3650. Does not bode well...
