Motorola V265 / V266 / V276
Any apple users out there with the V265???
Im an avid apple user. Im running 10.3.6 and unfortunately motorola mobile to pc software is ONLY FOR PC. I called tech support and guess what they told me. They dont support MAC because PC counts towards 90% of the market share!!! I havent laugh so hard in my life!!!!
Anyway Im trying so hard to find some software or hacks to be able to have my mac recongnize my v265. I want to add my mp3 ringtones that ive created and update my contacts ect... I refuse to pay that verizon that "get it now" bullshit. Thanks
unfortunately, i have not found out any way to transfer files, other then sending the email to vzwpix.com - that's the way i do desktop pics - can attach about 3 per email, so the cost is down. as far as updating the phone with numbers and appointments - you can use isync and the usb cable (i have one from my v60 that works just fine) - just tell isync to find the device, and it recognizes the v265. you can then choose people and calendars you wish to sync. it works really well, haven't entered in a phone number into my phone for well over 2 years!
i can't get the phone to be recognized as a modem (my v60 did and was able to access the #777 network) so if anyone knows anything about that, that would be aweso...

just sync contacts/events
there might be a hack out there, it just hasn't been at the top of my list just yet.
sorry - to get media to your phone, you in some way are going to have to fork over cash to VZW - they're the pricks in this case.

dam, So how can i transfer my mp3 ringtones? this sucks so much. I even thinking of exchanging my 265 for the 710 because of bluetooth. but i heard that doesnt help either. i hate moto for snubbing us mac users. please if you find anything let me know.
I don't think you will be able to transfer ringtones on Windows either. Its how Verizon setup the software on the phone and not a decision by Motorola. As for not supporting the Mac, I agree its a shame but at least iSync is there and its free as long as you have the correct cable. In fact, Apple and Motorola have pledged support for this in iSync and future renditions of this software.
And, if you do get pictures or ringtones on your phon...

But incase it doesnt work. whats the best get it now ringtone provider out there? ringster, xringster ect..
I like GIN. I have downloaded a few ringtones and wallpapers but that gets old fast. So I pay a few bucks for some ringtones?!? GIN is great for sports and news, etc., and certainly better than Mobile Web. As for taking pictures, its a phone!!
