Camera Driver for thrid party application use

I have the PPC 6600 with Camera, I use an application from a software company called ESRI. Their mobile ArcPad 7 GIS software can use a camera for data collection but the driver needs to enabled for use with the windows mobile camera API. here is an excerpt from a forum post from the software vendor for requirements.. Any ideas about the camera programming for the ppc6600?

With ArcPad and camera support, our preference is to support standard camera drivers, and not have to develop and maintain numerous proprietary camera drivers.

On the PC, the only standard camera driver is the Windows Multimedia API (MCI). As I mentioned in my previous post, unfortunately few cameras on the PC clearly state which driver is used. Consequently, the only way of "identifying" which cameras ArcPad supports on the PC is to direct users to webcams or PC-cams. Yes, this is far from ideal, but it is the reality of the current state of camera drivers on the PC.

Windows Mobile 5 includes a built-in camera driver, which ArcPad 7 supports. Windows Mobile 5 devices with an integrated camera and which use the built-in drivers *should* work with ArcPad 7.

Unfortunately there are no standard camera drivers for Windows Mobile 2003, Windows Mobile 2003 SE, and CE 4.2. As a result, only the integrated cameras on HP iPAQs are supported.

Could the Camera application be made to work with ArcPad?

Thanks in advance
