Audiovox PPC-6600 / PPC-6601 / XV6600 (HTC Harrier)

I just had a customer come in and wanted to know if this data device had an expandable memory..

I told him the specs adn they wern't enough he said he needed something that was about 250 MB.

so can he add to this device ordo oyu know any other device that might work for him??

Does anyone out there know if there is a verizon ppc with a screen the size of the 6600 and a keyboard like the 6700 (size of keys and slides to the side? Or if one is on the way. That would be the best of all worlds for mobile business users. With the size of the 6600, you would think it would be no problem to have a keybaord that comes out to the side.

Ok I have speak with Sprint Regards a possible update of the OS. Aparentally, Sprint has not clue about it. I have tried audiovox, which's the wose customer service ever!!!!!..

So, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE. If you're considering a Smart phone. research the company and findout if its worth it to deal with the manofacture or not.

hey everyone...i recently bought the treo 650 and am annoyed at how to get ringtones (buying the $30 software that only works with the $80 expansion card). i am now considering the xv6000 and i have a few questions?

-how do you get ringtones?
-do you have to have an expansion card to get them?

and any other other info would be greatly appreciated

Does anyone know if there is an external, desktop style speakerphone available for the PPC-6600 phone? (Sort of like the external speaker kits they make for iPods, etc.) I'd like to take handsfree speakerphone calls while I'm at my desk, and I don't like the sound quality of the 6600's built in speakerphone. I like the keyboards they have available at www.thepocketsolution.com, but so far haven't found an external speakerphone unit to dock this phone into.

I bought an IPod for my girlfriend and loaded hundreds of songs into my computer so that I could download them onto it for her, and now am wondering if there is a simple program that I can load onto my Audiovox XV6600 so that I can copy the songs to an SD card and play them as well?

Since wi-fi isn't built into the 6600, unlike the SX66 (grrr), does anyone know if you can add wi-fi using aftermarket SDIO cards?

Also, curious if Audiovox and/or Verizon have come through with any updates/patches that address (a) the quiet ringtones and/or (b) the poor battery life?

Seriously thinking of buying the 6600 but looking for additional facts.

can someone tell me why i cant open some websites and ohers open with no problem

is anyone else having problems accessing different web sites from the 6600. things like certain features on the sprint site? and picture mail?

When I first got my PPC 6600, the power button could tuyn onn/off the unit on a short press(phone is still on), the backlight is turned on/off with a long press. Now, and even after I upgraded the SW from audiovox website, the power button can only turn the backlight on/off but not the unit itself (sort press). any help?

does anyone know if i can get my imac to communicate with my 6600 from sprint? and if i can how?

ok does anyone have any ideas to where i can get this thing fixed? it was sitting on the TV, someone called and it vibrated to the floor! so needless to say the screen is cracked. siemens said it would be bout 160.00 thru the manufacturer

Contrary to what you may have heard, the 6600 will email videos you take with your camcorder. Follow these steps:

1. Sign up for a premium yahoo account, etc. to launch the video.
2. On your drop-down menu, go into accounts.
3. Click on "New Account." Here are the steps to follow in setting up the account:
4. If you choose a premium yahoo account to launch the videos, your account type is yahoo.
5. Your phone number is, obviously your cell no.
6. When it asks you to select a modem, choose cell line.
7. The country is 1.
8. Enter your area code for your cell in the appropriate box, and your cell no.
9. In the user name box, enter your yahoo id.
10. Enter your password for your yahoo premium account, when prompted. If ...

🙂 I love my phone. It has a few bugs, but overall it's great. Can anyone tell me how to send and receive faxes on it without using a service like E-Fax? I have heard that you can do this and when a fax comes in you hang up and then don't answer when it calls back????? What software is needed?

I frequently use hotmail for some of my email, but the Explorer program only shows me a header for anything that has been forwarded to me with a note that says I have an attachment. Any clue how to see the whole message which would normally display on my laptop???
