Bought it. Awesome. Have questions
Questions:
A. I'm currently using T-Zones GPRS with T-Mobile, but it seems that downloading files or applications is restricted to anything less than a specific size. For instance, I can download a 200kb app, but I can't download a 1.? mb MP3. I tried to load a picture that was around 500kb but that didn't work either. Anytime you try to download above this "download cap", if it exists, i get an error that reads "Web: Reply Unknown".
So my only other thought is that if I use the phone to make a data call, then i can download any file i want. But I can't find any setting other than how long you want the data call to last before the time-out.
B. I've been trying to download .sis files, but every time i do they just open in the Notes program. In particular, the vSNES program and AgileMessenger. Any solution for this for a direct download to the phone, as I don't have any method to transfer from my computer to the phone.
C. What in the world is this Presence and Positioning used for?
Since I expect people to ask I will give my review of the phone.
People complained about size in the reviews I've read over the web, but this works out just as good since the phone carries applications that would normally run on a PDA, and has the slot for the RS-MMC card. Pretty much, the features of this phone justifies the size.
The camera takes awesome pictures, and the video has no limit to the time it records. I haven't tested how long it will run, but I have recorded up to 2 minutes, compared to 10-15 seconds on most phones available today.
The crashing thing I read about: This phone HAS crashed on me a few times. This was only because I was surfing the web and loaded a page that used up too much of the memory. As long as you remain within the 5mb of shared memory then you shouldn't have a problem. I've had the phone a week, I surf the web 24/7 on this thing and it has only crashed twice.
I can see how the swiveling screen could snap off, but you have to be pretty rough or an abusive phone user in order for that to happen. I am a salesman in an indirect store, so I wouldn't dare sell this phone to someone who most likely needs one of the bulky durable NEXTEL phones. Before you buy it, think about how it would fare in your day to day environment.
So anyways, I hope you can help with my questions
