GPR in use status on all the time

I have the GPR in use icon (Small G and signal-lines) shown all the time instead of the Signal Strength icon. Does anyone know why is that?

YES!!!! I do! and I hate it...it makes me nervous. If you change the "Internet" setting in your "data connections" from automatic to GPRS...it actually fixes that problem. Dont know what implications that has. I think it wont auto-sync with a server when that is one, though.
