Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557
New V551 and no GPRS Data connection?
I just got a V551 on monday and have traveled from Jacksonville, FL to Baton Rouge, La on I-10 and have not been able to connect for any of the feeatures requiring GPRS. The symbol for GPRS available has never shown on the display. When I activated this phone I requested the Media package for 19.99 per month but do not seem able to use it. Is there some setting I need to change in order to access the GPRS?

Have you tried turning the phone off and then back on? I had the same problem and everything worked when I turned it back on. Something to do with re-connecting with the network.

Got it fixed. Not sure what fixed it but went by a sales store and the clerk checked the account and found that it was setup for purchase per use, twice. Took off both purchase per use tags and took the battery out with the phone on. Replaced the battery and powered on and everything was fine.
