I know that the first handsets delivered had faulty software called AA, with the screen occasionally turning white. I just bought my V551 from a Cingular store and I was under the impression that they stopped selling the faulty ones weeks before. My screen has turned white a couple times so far. Can somebody tell me if i have the AA faulty software?

Maybe i'll just go back to the store and return it since im still under the 30 day return policy

The software isn't AA, it's the batch of v551's. To see if yours is from that batch, power off your phone, then take the battery out. On the phone, under the battery, there are several labels. The one closest to the antenna should have three lines. The last line should start with a long alphanumeric serial number, starting with SJUG. The last two characters are the batch designation. If that number ends with AA, return your phone and tell them you want a new one. Check the new one before you leave the store.

My code (thankfully) ends with BA.

I got mine about 2 weeks ago and I checked, it's a BA but it still occassionally gets a white screen.

I'll be in the middle of a call with full signal bars, suddenly I'll lose connection, look down and see a white screen. If I press anything, the screen will come back, no restart or anything and the signal will go from zero right back up to full.

Happens only occassionaly, wonder if this is just a different motorola bug?

My phone is AA and I don't have any problems at all. No dropped calls and no white screen that some of you are reporting. I am in the NYC metro area.
