Another Battery Life Question
I've seen lots of debate about battery life, and never really had an issue - but now I do, and I'm wondering if it is similar to others.
I didn't use my phone for about 36 hours. During most of that time, it sat in the charger. The last time I looked, it was fully charged. After being out of the charger no more than four hours, and sitting at home where I get a strong signal, I received a 14 minute phone call.
At the end of the call, I got a low battery warning, and the phone shut down. I plugged it into the charger, and within 30 minutes, it displayed fully charged.
Do I have a battery problem?
I have learned a few things about cell phone battery from my personal experience.
1. They DO NOT last as the manual suggests.
2. If you stay in an area with reception problems, the battery goes low very quickly.
3. If you have Bluetooth on, the battery lasts shorter than usual.
4. If you leave your phone unused with the battery in for months, the battery becomes unable to recharge.
I've also had recent experiences where I've been on the phone for over an hour with no change in the battery meter. It's the inconsistency that has me worried...
As an aside, I purchased the phone through Phone Scoop, not Cingular. Why would CIngular replace my battery? Does Cingular have warranty responsibility for phones with their name painted on?
I think it's also part of the characteristics of rechargeable batteries. Years ago, my brand new StarTrac fully charged overnight suddenly died on me early afternoon once, and never happened again.
I certainly meant the place you bought your battery for warranty service.
My phone has the 780mAh battery and I get about a week out of it. Mainly due to the fact I am a very light cell phone user and I don't have it open playing games or sending text messages all the time.
