Finally, vibe and ring at the same time!!!! (v551)

FINALLY, I found a way to make the Moto V551 ring and vibrate at the same time. I've been told it was impossible, but I did it! Immediately when receiving a call, VM, text, the phone vibrates while the ring tone is playing. This adds a new setting in the audio menu, as well as when the phone is closed, it adds a new setting to the side buttons. You have to have a data cable and the programs to edit seem files. Here is what you need to do:
Download seem 0032_0001 from your V551.
Change (hex edit) Seem - 0032_0001 offset 7A - bit 4: Vibe and Ring (1 on, 0 off)

Just be careful when doing this, if done the wrong way, you can destroy your phone.

You can mess up your phone, but with seem files you can always re-upload the original and correct if you do something wrong...

what kind of program would you need to do this? I've been shopping around for software and a cable for my v551, both OEM and 3rd party. How would you go about download the file to the phone. Also, can you email the edited hex file to [email protected], i'd really appreciate it.

just go read the FAQs on howardforums. I did all these edits in less than 5 minutes, and the software is all free.

as far as the data cable goes, go get one on ebay for less than $5 and make sure that the seller has extremely high rating percent to ensure your not buying junk, and i've read on this forum somewhere, i think it may have been an early post in this thread, avoid the futuredial cables, apparently those are junk
