Motorola V551 / V330 / V547 / V555 / V557

Hey can someone tell me how t use the V551 FotoFun Photo Editor. All the websites i went to claimed that this phone has the FotoFun Photo editor but i could never find it. Can Someone plz help me.

Hey, I had a motorola V551 for a week now and ive been wondering where is the fotofun software and how to use. At motorola.com they said there was a fotofun where i can idit pictures and add frames and backrounds but it is nowhere to be seen on my phone. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE, I MEAN PLEASE HELP ME FIND OUT WHERE THE FOTOFUN IS AND TELL ME HOW TO WORK IT. plz.

Does anyone know how to install the driver for v551?? PhoneTools doesn't work and I can't connect w/ my phone at All. Please help.

One thing that really bugs me about this phone is the way the outside keys, when pushed, erase any message on the outer/inner screens. So if I miss a call or an alert from my calendar, and any of the outside buttons get bumped while in my pocket my alert is turned off and I don't know about the missed call or alert.

Anyone have a work around for this?

Is that all I'll need to upload .mp3 clips I made from my Windows XP SP2 laptop w/ USB to my Motorola V551 phone? Thanks!

I'm having troubles charging my phone. When I plug it into the charger about half the time nothing happens (it doesn't begin charging). Other times it will begin charging, but then later shut off. When I come back to the phone it is turned off and has not been charged. It does this when I use both my charger and my wife's charger (also a V551). It also happened once with my wife's phone, but has not happened again. Any ideas what might be going on?

This is my first Moto (won it in the learn and earn contest) I was aware of the dreded phonebook set up. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to tweak the settings in order to display just a contact's name once in the phonebook list, and then access all of that contact's numbers in a sub-menu. (like what samsung and sanyo do with their phone books)

any input would be appreciated!

Has anyone had this happen? I have been in the middle of a call, the White Screen comes up and then the phone shuts off.

Anyone know how to do this? It's driving me nuts...

About how long does it take for you to charge your v551's? I switched over from my loyal T720 that charged quite quickly. Also, does the phone charge any quicker if it is off?

The error reads:

"Error on line 6, position 18
A name was started with an invalid character"

I keep getting this error when I click on the "Pictures" folder of my phone. I am trying to get the pictures off of my phone to put them on my computer. I can get the songs up on my phone, but get the above message when trying to access the pictures folder. No pictures appear, but they are on my phone. I have the V551 and I am using mobile phone tools version 3.0. Does anyone know why I am getting this error? I am using Mobile Phone Tools 3.0 with the USB Cable. Thanks

Hi, anybody who knows (and thanks for a ton of valuable info on my inscrutable V551 from everyone who posts on this forum):

I've taken some very decent pictures on my V551, but the bit depth, or something, changes totally at random. I've taken a couple shots that took up 60k of RAM, these look pretty good. But then the next pic I take will take only 15k and look pretty bad, then the next one only 3k and be totally unusable, then the next 25k, etc., etc. I'm pretty sure the SIZE is staying the same (640 x 480), but the QUALITY varies from "surprisingly good" to "useless", and I'm not changing anything. Is there any way to lock this thing into taking only the highest-quality picture?

Finally got my 551. I have few questions about it:-
a)Do I need to buy moto tools and cable to download ringtones and pics to my pc or noor I can use bluetooth to transfer all that.I can browse different folder but whatever video I capture its not showing up.
b)Also how can I disable cingular media key so I dont get charged .
c)Any links for free mp3 ringtones , wallpapers.

My v551 shuts itself down when I plug the charger in if the battery is low. Is this a common problem with this phone?

Last night I got the low battery signal, then plugged the charger in. The phone shut down (not normal shutdown, but quick shut down). I waited a bit, then turned it back on. It was off this morning. Should I exchange the phone?

I'm looking into buying a Motorola v551 and have a "silly" question. In my business I use my current phone ALL the time as a day planner. I set events with alarms, events to repeat every two weeks, store birthdays, etc. My husband bought me a Samsung e317 and it had a horrible calendar system! No repeating options, no alarms, you get the picture (not to mention the earpiece sound quality sucked!) Before I buy my next phone, I wanted to research this particular function as much as I could. Could someone please tell me how well/extensive the calendar option is? I would greatly appreciate it! 😉

I have a brand new Motorola v551 and have the Bluetooth power turned "on" so I can wirelessly integrate it with my car. It all works perfectly, but I've noticed that the battery only lasts for about 8 - 10 standby hours presumably since Bluetooth is draining it. I upgraded to this phone from a v400, which I used to charge only about once every 5 - 6 days.

Is this normal for the battery to drain so quickly when Bluetooth is "on"? Is there a way for the phone to automatically recognize when I get into my car, turn the Bluetooth "on" by itself and then turn itself "off" when I get out of the car? Obvously it doesn't make sense for me to leave Bluetooth "on" when I am away from my car.

I'm about to sign a new contract and I'm gonna get the V551. My father and mother are also on my plan, so I'm going to get their phones too. My dad still works (he sells carpeting and flooring), so he'll be using his phone for his business for a few more years.

What I want to ask is- how durable is the V551 when you drop it? His StarTac right now is just barely hanging on, it's been dropped so much. Which phone would be more durable between the V551 and V180 (which is free)?

Also- My dad has NO computer/interface literacy. Is either phone easier to use than the other as far as the interface? Not worrying about the price, which phone would you choose for him? (He could use the camera for his job, but doesn't need it at all.)
