Sony Ericsson S710a
My first Sony Ericsson
Hello,
I have been researching phones and I have never had a Sony Ericsson.
I am use to Nokia and currently have Nokia 6620, which in my opinion is a great phone.
I am loyal to Nokia, but this S710A has caught my eye and got me all worked up and excited....
I am considering the Nokia 7610, but am debating now after researching the S710A....
It's certainly seems to be a great phone based on specs. and hearsay and for a minute I was sold. However, I have never had a Sony Ericsson, and I am quite skeptical....
Can someone sell me on the S710A and tell me why I shouldn't just get the Nokia 7610?

Some people swear by them. Just as some swear by nokia, motorola and every other manufacturer. They do have a different menu and key configuration you either love or hate.

I especially recommend the 1st thing on the list, which requires Flash Player to view. You'll get some great animated shots of the phone in action. Also, on a more personal note, I got to handle a working prototype about two weeks ago when my store's SE rep was in town & swung by for a visit. There is no website that can fully capture just how cool the real thing is. It's not just a bunch of hype. The real phone is a beauty. It gets great reception, has great features, & looks nice too.

that nokia has horirble reviews, and a horrible camera compared to the s710a.
go to mobileburn.com and check the review of the s700i, they are the same except s710 has 850mhz band instead of 900, and EDGE rather than FM radio. there is a comparison of their cameras too.

Oh no! Not the Nokia 6620 discussion again! I haven't seen any horrible reviews of that Nokie but as far as the camera is concerned - i'd bet my life that the photo quality is nothing compared to the S710a.

Not to be all anti S710...I want this phone more than anything else...but on HoFo some guy compared the cameras of this and the P777, and the Samsung def. had less cayany pictures. Great outdoor...not as great indoor though. But the S710 has better features.

I, like you, have the 6620 and at one point thought about this phone..better camera vs. no OS..and since I use the OS much more than I would the camera, I ultimately decided to happily stick with what I have..as for the 7610, it did not get favorable reviews and for you, it is the "unknown", meaning you don't know if you get one whether it may be defective or not..so I say stick with what you have (6620)..great phone, and you know it works..
