Why buy from cingular?

Why should anyone buy the s710 from cingular when amazon has a $150 rebate and only one year contract? Granted the price is $20 more upfront, but a year less and the rebate?! It dosent even seem debateable!

Because you can't transfer your number if you buy through amazon.

I guess im ok then since i need a new number. I will of course make sure that cingular wont have a comparable rebate, but that seems unlikley.

the other downside to amazon is that they dont offer deals in all regions. Tucson, AZ for instance, does not qualify. so even if i wanted a new number (which i dont), amazon wont let me ☹️

I was afraid that was the case... I would go for a one year on that kind of deal, but the $50 isnt worth a one year to me. I'll probably just buy it out right.

I have the same problem that I'm sure you do... I sell phones and understand the implications of a contract. While there are numerous loop holes, most of them are a pain in the ass to exploit. I just plain don't like contracts. (And forget 2 yrs!!)
