S710a and EDGE

I noticed that the S710a only has EDGE, no GPRS. So if it's true that Cingular charges for EDGE, then that would mean unless you pay for the EDGE, you have no internet.

Therefore, that leads me to only believe that there is no charge for EDGE. Cingular would not be that stingy. That's like a Verizon Wireless move.

All EDGE devices are GPRS, not all GPRS devices are EDGE. Much like HDTV, and Digital TV if you require an analogy.

Then why do some of the phone on here specify EDGE and GPRS seperately?

Because there’s no standard on advertising features.

He's 100% correct. Also, NO - Cingular does not charge any additional fees for using an EDGE capable device.

Yeah I know, I'm just tired of all the dopes that come on here saying you have to pay X amount of money for EDGE, having to have some Data Connect plan. Isn't that for PDA's and Laptops?
