Sony Ericsson S710a
Dealer in Houston claiming he has s710a!!
I visited Houston this past week and I happen to be staying at the Westin Galleria which is attached to the Houston Galleria mall....so I decided to swing through..
I stopped at 2 of those kiosk and this store called Futuretronics and asked about the S710A.
One guy claimed he had them and that they were in his storage and that he could get it for me...???????? I repeated to this guy 'S710A' for a reason, like 6 times(he was foreign, no offense)
Another guy claimed that he would have them in about a week.
And the guy from Futuretronics said he did not have them yet.
Needless to say, I still don't have an S710A, but I did get cards with no.s, which I need to locate in my suitcase and I'm going to get on it.....what do you all thin...

If he really had them he wouldn't have had the phones locked up in storage. Having one of the hottest phones on the market locked up doesnt make sense. You want to sell those puppies.

I'm thinking he told you he has it so you go into the store and then it turns into a shakedown and turns out he doesnt have the phone, so he tries getting you to get something else instead, his strategy being telling you that you can always upgrade to the S710a when its finally released. At that point you punch him in the face and walk out. đ

well the MEdia flyers say that unlimited is going away on the 31st of jan, so i got a plan yesterday with a Sony T637 and hopefully the 30 day return policy will cover the time up until the S710a comes out. being able to bluetooth my internet is awesome.

Yeah, the T637 is a pretty cool phone for being entry-level! It's what I started off with, it's a nice upgrade from a T610 which I had with T-Mobile.
It'll be alot nicer having an S710 though, it'll be the first phone that I'll own thats valued more than my life. đ

You bet your ying yang it will be! I love that phone! Well, I haven't held and S710 yet but my friend has a S700 and everytime we're out I'm always playing with her phone, I love that thing!
I can't wait to try out the EDGE, I'm really curious as to how fast it'll be. The camera too, it's got some great quality for my needs. I was going to buy a digi-cam so this'll be nice and double as a phone and a camera. Of course it's not the best quality out there, but for my needs it'll suffice. Hell, my T637 is good enough for my needs. So the S710 will be all the much better.
But it's time to get my ass to bed, I gotta wake up in 5 and a half hours for work. âšī¸

FYI... If you connect your phone via Bluetooth/Data cable/IRDA to a lap top with the MEdia plans, you WILL be billed pay per use rates for data connect đ˛ . There are specific rate plans for laptop connect and PDA connect. đŗ

Call Cingular and get a Tech person on the line. Tell the tech person that they need to erase your DS (directory services) profile, and then re-create it. I used to be an AT&T rep, and that always seemed to do the trick when people were having one-way texting issues. đ

To confirm, I went to Futuronics in the Galleria and the guy did have one on display. I then asked the guy how much and the idiot said $899.99. I just walked out. Show me one cell phone worth that kind of money.

Yeah, true. Maybe he thought he could shake you down and make you think it's an S710a. Which even if it was an S700i @ $899.99 is still worth laughing in his face over.

Yeah, I did go to that store too and he had a S700, which is the silver one and that was last Thursday.
