Hey guys and gals,

Just wanted to see what those of us who still have the $99 unlimited/Charter plan will do.

What happens when the merger is complete and ATT goes to Sprint?

Are you y'all switching?

I'm not...

When the merger is complete ATT customers will be Cingular customers. Unless of course you decide to switch to the 'new' ATT which will piggyback on Sprint.

I don't see very many people leaving cingular to go to sprint/ATT. Shouldn't be a big deal.

So my charter plan becomes a "Cingular" plan and basically stays intact right?

I believe so - don't think they can make you change. I think it would work just like if you had an old cingular plan that they no longer offer - you keep it but no one new gets to keep it.

"Features and pricing are subject to change without notice."

No, they can't make you change plans, but they can change the features and price of your plan to just about anything they feel like. They can also discontinue your current plan if they feel like it, which risks losing you as a customer, but is something they do anyway from time to time to make their internal processes easier and allow them to clean out their databases. AT&T did it to me a couple of times over the course of my 10-year use of their service.

I had a Charter GSM plan but recently gave it up because my company now pays for my cell phone but wanted me to use Sprint.

Which now puts me in the unenviable position of deciding which QVGA phone to wait for - the San...

What is this that everyone's talking about???

AT&T plans piggybacking on SPRINT????

SPRINT doesn't even operate on the same technology! They're CDMA....

Where is this info coming from???

I work for Cingular & I've never heard of such a thing. The only thing I know of that's even remotely close is that the AT&T accounts in NC, SC & Puerto Rico are now being managed by SunCom Wireless.

Before SBC's buyout of ATTLD, ATTLD was going to rerelease ATTWS as a reseller for Sprint. Not sure what is going to happen now, but they have already invested a lot of time and money on the Sprint set-up. ATTWS may still release as a Sprint reseller, or it may go out as a Cingular reseller now, or they may scrap the whole deal. No one has any public info yet. But that is where all this is coming from. As an existing ATTWS customer, though, if they do go to Sprint, you would not have the option to to keep ATTWS on the sprint network. Go to Cingular or port out are the options. (I'm an indirect, so I get the scoop from all angles, convenient, but obnoxious)
