whats the difference?
whats the difference between the s710a and the s700i?
...
You really should do a search for this info before making a new post.
In short - S700 uses 900 band vs. the 850 band (S710) as well as having an FM radio instead of EDGE that the S710 has. Oh, and the S700 is silver not black.
...
whats a better band? the 900 on the s710 or the 850 with the s700. Does it matter?
...
900 mhz in used outside the americas, and 850 is used in the americas. (for the most part.)
...
850 is the S710. 900 band (outside the US) is the S700.

So will this limit the phones reception and capabilites???
...
Using the S700 inside the US will drastically cut the reception area because (to my knowledge) no carrier in the US uses the 900 band - so the phone will only work on the other two bands (GSM 1800 & 1900).
Personally, I wouldn't spend the money on the S700 for a lesser coverage area and lack of EDGE data speeds to get the phone an extra couple weeks sooner.

doesn't t-mobile work off of 900?
...
Yah, you're right. Duh me. 😕
...
The only frequencies used in the US and the rest of the Americas are 1900 and 850. 900 and 1800 is not used anywhere in the Americas. 🙂
...
You sure? I was under the impression T-mobile was 900...
...
Yeah, I'm sure. T-Mobile uses only the 1900 band in America and Cingular uses the 850 and 1900.
I don't know if you have, but maybe you've seen some cell phones have only the 1900 band. It's very rare that they do, but that's all they really need to work in America. Having Cingular gives you that larger coverage area thanks to the 850 band.

I guess i'm having an off day cause somewhere in my head I knew that. Stupid mondays! 👿
