Is this possible with an EDGE phone that has bluetooth?

My phone is in my pocket, I open my laptop and connect (wirelessly) to the Internet through the phone.

THIS is what I want.

Do it all the time with my PDA. Same process though.
As long as Cingular leaves the DUN portion of Bluetooth intact, it'll work.

Sorry to be repetative. I have seen this asked, but i just dont quite get how it works. "phaedrusisZen" said DUNS, but I dont understand how dial up networking would solve this. Would I need to "dial-in" to a modem bank to get access?

To mean I should be able to use the Bluetooth LAN function and treat the phone like a router essentially.

I just dont see how DUNS is the answer.

What types of speed are you seeing? 300kbps? Please take a look at my other reply RE: DUNS.

Thanks!

I do it all the time with a T616. It is quite easy, actually, at least with Cingular.

I am sure there are great how-to's available online, here is a quick and dirty one. For those complaining about the same old, please don't read further, it *is* that tired thing again.

Assumptions: You have BlueTooth installed in your notebook, and (duh) a BT phone.

-Pair your phone.
-On Bluetooth Neighborhood, discover, the device, then discover available services.
-One of the services the laptop will find is Dial-Up Networking. Right-click on the icon, then hit "Connect" on the context menu.
-If all is well, you will get the same DUN we used to see in the modem days. Fill in with
