Question for the educated

One thing just occurred to me that I should have thought of much earlier. This will be my first actual SE, but I did briefly have a T226 as a loaner. Good phone, great RF, great battery, etc. Just one problem... I hated how unintuitive the menu was, specifically the hoops that had to be jumped just to send a text. (and when I say hate, I mean HATE) Has anyone had any experience with an S700 who can allay my newfound fear? If so, I would owe him (non-gender specific him, for any feminist who was about to mercilessly assault me) my eternal gratitude. And my first born son. I didnt really want him anyway...

Check out this link - might help you get a feel of how the menu will end up working.

thanks pyro, that helped, but I couldnt get T9 to activate on the demo, so I dont know how it works... That was one of my problems with the T226 text. very unintuative. Guess I'll try it out and see what happens.

Okay, well it looks like to send a text message you do the following:

1. click the center of the directional pad under the screen.
2. navigate to middle of the 2nd row (4 rows total)
3. click center of directional pad again.
4. and again (to select "write new")
5. and again (to select "text message") can also select picture message from here
6. type away...

From the demo, it looks like when you hit the center directional to go into the menu, the default selection is the text message icon (the middle of the second row). So, it looks like you just hit the center directional button 4 times to get to the text messaging part. Not sure if that's just the demo, or if the phone will default to that menu choice too.

Yah, I wasn't sure about that either. You'd expect it to start at the top-left but starting at the messages would be nice.

Time will tell.
