He lies.... plain & simple. I live on the east coast. Just look on Cingular & SE's websites - Cingular doesn't show it & SE says "coming soon". (unfortunately) This is a classic ploy of salesmen - lie about & badmouth the product that you don't have on your shelves so that you can build up the product that you do have, b/c the only sale that matters is the one you make TODAY. I don't live by this personally, but there are people who do. I have a district manager who does this all the time, I'm sorry to say. The man makes me sick.

Yeah he is a liar, at least about the breaking easily part. My friend has an S700i and I'll vouch for the build of the phone, it's very solid, it doesn't feel cheap at all.

No, the flip isn't like the Motorola i860's. The Motorola i860's flip, along with the flip button feel very cheap and flimsy. Pretty much like any other Motorola out there.

As for the S700i/S710a's swivel mechanism, it's very solid and sturdy. It's not automatic, it requires manual operation to open and close it, which isn't bad considering how much of the time the phone will be closed unless you use text messaging alot, or need to dial numbers alot. Past that, the phone is good to go being closed.

No, it doesn't go 360 degrees. You have to close it the same way you opened it.

But you can open it either clockwise or counterclcokwise. So it will work with either hand which is nice.

Slim at that mall kiosk must've been mistaken the S710 for that piece of s*** Samsung SCH-A610....that junk broke all the time....I had it when I was with Verizon and they tried to charge me $50.00(at that time, u could buy the phone for $50 w/rebate) to fix the swivel....and all I had to do was use the screwdriver that came with my sunglasses to tighten it up.... 🙄

Oh, speaking of Samsung, my girlfriend has that Samsung X427m, god that thing is a peice of ****. Everytime we're on the phone this annoying buzzing sound comes in. At first she thought it was her handsfree ear piece so the returned it cause it only happened when it was in, she got a different one and the same thing, but now it does it without the ear peice. I told her, urged her, strongly recommended the T637 but noooo, she had to be stubborn about it! 👿

Women... lol JK 😛

We all have to learn for ourselves, so we won't make the same mistake twice 😉

Yeah, true. She's always saying, "I'm never buying a Samsung again!". When I get my S710a I'm going to give her my T637, so it'll be all good.
