New plans up on cingular.com

I noticed yesterday that the new plan prices are now on cingular.com. Pretty much word for word what was posted on hofo, etc. Man, I'm glad I signed up on thursday! Got the $59.99 850 family plan + 1 line. 😎 Now just trying to figure out if I need a media plan or not ... hmmmmmm

I got a Moto V551 for the wife and a SE T637 for me. Seems like they aren't carrying the T637 in stores anymore. We had to call like 10 different stores to locate one. I'm torn between the s710a and the T637. The T is so teeny tiny, and fits perfect in my pocket. I don't even realize it's there. I didn't think I'd like it so much. I hope the S isn't too bulky. I wish the T had a better camera....

The 850 Family Plan for $59.99 is now 900 minutes for $59.99.

I have the 850 Family Plan as well but 50 extra minutes doesn't do me any good when between me and my girlfriend, we've only used 250 last month and usually only use that many.

Now... where the hell is the S710a you bitch bastards?! Release it now! I command you! If you don't, I'll... I'll... I'll... do something really bad! It'll be so bad you'll wish it wasn't so bad! 👿

Doesn't mean it can't be done again... Even if it has proved ineffective in the past.

Hey that reminds me, on the Cingular forum somebody gave the email address to the office of the president of Cingular lol. We could always spam that! 😁

Yup, but did you see that add-a-line is now $19.99 unless you upgrade to a plan > $69.99? And, i'm pretty sure that extra minutes were 0.35 for the 59.99 plan, and they are now 0.40. That's the big news.

What?! $19.99 for add-a-line unless your plan is $69.99 or more?! That's insane! VZW rolls out with $9.99 add-a-line and THIS is what Cingular does to compete? Who are the ekshperts that thought of this? Wow, Cingular is making some dumb moves. Seems like the only smart one they can make now is releasing the S710a 🤣

No kidding, they are acting really arrogant like they can jack up prices just because they have Rollover. I mean, I'll admit, Rollover is great for me, but come on! They're turning into tyrants! lol

But ya figure, they're only realy big competition is T-Mobile. Cingular's coverage area is bigger, they have EDGE. But then again, all their competition is not only another GSM carrier, but any carrier. Whether its GSM, CDMA, or iDEN. I dunno what they're plan is, but it doesn't look good as of yet.

BTW, where the hell is that S710a! Damn Cingular Nazi's!!

And this is to vanillachild: How is that K700i? Pro's? Con's? If you have time... Thanks in advance!

Can you port in a number when you "add a line" ? is this a possibility ?

I'd think you can. But let one of the Cingular people answer that one. I'm only speculating, but I don't see why not.

To HeroPsycho.....

So far my K700 is working great with the ATT service I have.
Don't know if u remember, but I had a brief migration to Cingular using a T637...I got alot of echo in my calls plus some other BS, so I did reverse migration back to ATT.
Then after the reversal, this Cing. rep. told me that T637 was a bad phone(yep, he did)and I should try another phone, b/c the echo has to do with the phone, not the service.
Needless to say, I'm thinking of giving Cingular another shot with use of K700...but still debating S710....basically if I get S710, it will be for MemoryStick Duo, EDGE, Megapix. camera and 850/1800/1900... that's only real differences.

As for K700, here is the low-down
Pros-
-Small, lightweight
-Good speaker ...

Problems with the T637? Really? That's strange. That's what I currently use and I've had no problems. But like any product, there can be faulty ones and all.

But the K700 sounds really nice. I was really considering it myself before I found out about the S710a, the only thing that stopped me was the lack of the 850 band. So, S710a it is.

Thank you very much for your review! 😁 Much appreciated!

Also, by the way...when I took my K700 into Cingular today to make sure it would work if I decide to migrate....I had made mention to the S710A....and the lady urged me to wait to migrate, so i could get the S710A cheaper.
She ran to grab her little price sheet and said...."That phone is due in stores on 2/25 and your price would be $469.00 for a 2yr and $569 w/o contract"
I was like...."I'll believe when I see it" and left it that.

Yup, that's the best way to leave it considering how much we've heard and what we've heard in the past. Maybe if all the other Cingular people didn't have different dates other than 2/25, it'd be believable, but everyone says something different.

Also, the pricing the lady told you is the first I've heard of it being that, so I don't know. Nothing sounds legit anymore. But again, thanks for your review of the K700 and thanks for the info about your trip to Cingular. As always, much appreciated! 😁

Koo, no prob. 😁
You know what I also noticed about pricing on the phones?
Everywhere it's different by a few dollars...I live in Wash. DC and that crappy Moto. Razor
phone is $499 here and in New York, it's $519...so as far as pricing, it will prob. vary from region to region.

Yeah that's true, I didn't think of the different markets and different pricing.

it seems silly to me to alter the price of the phones for the different markets since you could just go to their website and order a phone from wherever you are and it would be the same price.

Actually no, that's not accurate. When I go online, I enter my zip code and it gives me prices for a list of phones.
When I enter another zip code, it will give me the same list of phones, but some of the prices are different. Like the V3 for example.
DC, u pay $500. NY, u pay $520.
Also, certain regions carry different phones...NY has the Nokia 7610, but DC doesn't have it. It's available for purchase when you call telesales, but u can't purchase through your online sales region if it's not listed there, but lists under another online sales region.
That' so wack..it's like who comes up with this bull? If u carry a phone under your service, it should be available in all regions online and in stores.... 🙄
