Was just wondering - obviously you can access a contact with the swivel closed to make a call. What about speed dial numbers? Is there easy access when the swivel is closed? Or does that need to be done with the swivel open? Could be an issue - really, really, really want the phone, but I like the ability to quickly speed dial with a clamshell. Anyone have any experience here? Thanks

I would say probably not, i havent used the phone, or seen it but i would assume that like any sony you could push the call button and bring up your call history and find the one your looking for there.. its not as fast...but hey its my best guess

Looks like I will need to master the voice dialing 🙄
...
Truthfully, voice dialing is cool...and it works with Bluetooth for answering calls....it's a snap! I use it with my K700...and I love it.
...
So you can answer/dial through a command through a headset?
...
I haven't tried dialing throught the bluetooth,...I'm not sure it will work, but if you program the voice dial to anwser calls, while using Bluetooth, you can say, "Bluetooth Answer" and it will pick right up...
As a matter of fact, I was laying in the bed and my phone was on the desk, which is about 5 feet away. While using Bluetooth, the phone rang and I issued command to answer and it picked up.
...
Can you tell it - "Bluetooth, make coffee?"
...
"bluetooth, back rub"
...
How about, Bluetooth, find me a decent woman.
😲 😳 🤣 😎

Here's another one. I currently have ATT - and speed dial "1" is set up for voice mail. After pressing and holding "1", it asks for a password which I key in. As I am not familiar w/ Cingular or SE phones (and really not BTooth) - if I have a voice dial set up for voice mail on the s710a, if the phone is closed, how do I get the password to voicemail? Is it even possible, or does voice mail need to be checked only with the phone open with access to keypad?

You can set up VM to automatically input your passcode. I'm not sure how GSM VM works vs digital VM, but I'd assume it's the same way or very similar.
...
All you would need to do is save your voicemail number as "+15555555555pXXXX", with "XXXX" being your 4-digit voicemail passcode. This way whenever you call your VM the phone will automatically dial the number, wait a second, and enter your passcode every time. I've had my T637 set up like this as long as I've had it. Hope this helps! 😉
