i bluetoothed EDGE from my (temp as you who frequent the forum often know) V551 to my lappy.
ladies (vanillachild) and gents (hero, lostboy, pyro), i am proud to announce 80kbps download, 20 kpbs upload. that's twice dialup, baby!! but remember, it's an inferior Motorola, so expect more from our baby!

Do you have to have a BT equipped laptop or is it enough to have an integrated wireless networking card? I'm hoping the integrated card will work since that's what I've got in my lappy. Those Sony Vaio USB BT adaptors cost around $100 - ouch.

You'll have to have bluetooth on your laptop. Doesn't have to be from Sony though - any bluetooth USB adapter should work.

The BT adapter Apple sells is not manufactured by Apple at all, its manufactured by D-Link.

Apple sells an internal bluetooth module for their computers as well that is apple branded (not sure who makes that though).

the only problem i see is that in about april we are moving to Cingular Business (i didnt want AT&T business which is offered now) and i doubt they'll let me just move over my cuurent plan. but the discount in service may (doubtfully) make up for having to get an unlimited data+sms/mms plan.
