Fed up...

I love the product I sell & really do believe that it is the best of its kind, but I am starting to get a bit fed up.... (time to vent) 😡

The store I'm at is a mall kiosk. There are 3 (THREE) other Cingular dealers in here. I just got a phone call from my mgr telling me that we have to bring sales up. Sales have been low recently. I get frustrated b/c we have too much competition here (oversaturization of the product). Cingular needs to realize that more stores does not always equal more sales. Plus, I think that since the merger with AT&T, the criteria for getting a low deposit (or preferably NO deposit) has changed. I can remember when we used to always get zero deposits when running credit checks. We would get a lot of $150'...

Yeah I get that here too sometimes...but it's usually the $750 deposit. I got alot of those as a store manager selling inside a Meijer's location....I sell more down here in Bellevue, Ky, surprisingly.

That is crazy...noboody would want to do that...I guess I was fortunate....I filed bankruptcy back in 2002, and I got my ATT phone last year and it did not require a deposit...nor when I got my phone with Verizon either.

The Topic subject reminded me of something:

If UPS and FedEx were to merge together, would they call it FedUP?

I've sold Cingular phones to people who just filed bankruptcy who required no deposit, and the same as people who just turned 18.

I wonder why it asks for so much money for a deposit....those prospects must have SUPER terrible credit.

I remember in November, activating 4 lines for a girl on her 18th birthday. Now, 20 yr olds who live @ home & have no credit still have "$500 LIMITED CREDIT INFO" ☚ī¸

What gives?

3 or 4 times. hmmm....

What percentage would you say that is when compared to the number of times that you have seen that as the result of a credit check?
.002% perhaps? (one out of every 500)

I've probably taken that deposit amount 3 times.

You don't have to pay for the phone all at once? i.e., if you have good credit you can ...... defer payments? or, what? spread them out over xxx billing cycles?

I'm confused?

The deposit is not for the phone itself. It is for the line. For the account. You could take the "free" phone & still have to pay a $300 deposit that you'd get back in a year (provided that you pay all your bills on time).

I thought you were talking about the phone itself. Wow, I didn't even realize that they would require a deposit for the line! Good thing I gots good credit, huh? 😁

when u apply for service....if there is a deposit required....you pay the deposit, along with the price of the phone

If u have good credit..no deposit and u pay for the phone....I have never ever seen a deferred wireless payment plan. 😕
Somebody educate me...
