Pairing w/ the S710

DUMB QUESTION:

I've heard that Motorola blocked their Bluetooth Headsets to only be used w/ moto phones. Is this true...or can I use my HS850 w/ the s710a?

I think they did that to their phone because my cousins Moto V710 doesnt find my HBH660.

I know Moto headsets can be used with any BT phone.

Moto phones can only use BT headsets.

I hope this clarifys things!
