I'm a newbie to the whole EDGE thing. Well, my question is that is EDGE supposed to allow you to browse the internet on the phone free of charge? Can I go anywhere on the web with it (like anywebsite)? thanx 4 da help. 🙂

No such thing as 'free of charge' on a cell phone plan. Basically EDGE is a technology to get faster connection speeds when online with it. You can get a plan that allows a certain amount of bandwidth per month and after that they charge per Kb.

Check out the options on cingular.com (media net) which is an add-on to your plan.

EDGE is just a faster version of GPRS, so you'll need a data plan of some sort in order to use the phone's EDGE capabilities to browse the internet.

Think of EDGE as your dialup connection to the internet.
