Sony Ericsson S710a
My 'vacation' went to **** as did so much more....
Okay, so, I'm driving down I-90 minding my own business going to pick up my friend from Union Station who was coming in from New York. So, I'm driving when alluva sudden some guy in the far left lane flys into the middle lane, over shoots the landing, slams/side swipes my car, putting me into the median at 75 mph. Sound good? Doesnt end there. My car slides side way down the highway and gets nailed again by a huge ass UHAUL truck.
Now, I'm grateful I came out with only bumps, bruises, a broken leg, broken collar bone and two fractured vertibre. All thanks to the assh*le who doesn't know how to switch lanes like a normal human being.
But it's good to be back! đ I don't have an S710 yet though, it's sort of on hold due to unexpec...

And, receiving is flaky, too. I've only tried with my wife's v551, though. Oh, and, I couldn't receive a pic from my friend's 6820. Infrared worked, though. Both phones can detect my phone (and my phone can detect theirs) but I can't seem to actually send or receive anything from them.
I think some peeps were complaining about pairing headsets, too. But I don't have one yet, so I can't comment on that.

Any chance of the problems being the fault of the V551 or the 6820 or is that just wishful thinking?

i was having issues with my headset but that is all fixed.. it was nothing important.. as for transfering files.. i can send to my s710a files from my womanz v551 or my t637 no issues but when it comes time to send from my s710a the connection fails..

I don't know what the issue is, but I was using the s710a we have at work, and I was able send a pic, ringtone, and a video to my 551 via Bluetooth with NO problem. I didn't pair with my HS810 though. I also sent a picture back to the phone without a hitch. Try doing a "hardshock" on the phone, which is, while the phone is on, remove the battery and leave it off for 2 minutes, then put it back together. If that still doesn't fix it, WARANTY EXCHANGE (and since it's such a new phone, chances are they won't have any refurbs, so you'll probably get another NEW one)

i hope insurance covers it, i gave my Saab on owie on last thursday (as in over a week ago). i messed up hurting two body panels hitting some stupid lady with no insurance (GRRR!!!!).
i ordered my s710a on monday when it came out at 6:30am. it still says backordered even though many people have ordered and recieved theirs. I called around and found two stores locally that had them and i picked one up, but they wont let me cancel the telesales order that still says backordered. the phone is great, the only complaint i have is that text messaging can be a pain (keys dont always recognize a hit, or i'm not doing it hard enough or something). overall, it's great!!
get well soon, and collect...

Hell no, why would I?! That high res. 240x320 262,000 color display on the S710a doesnt even compare to Nokia's 96x65 4,000 color display!

I got my phone on Thurs (i think - the days all blur together after awhile). It's been really nice but haven't had much time to toy with it as much as I would like.
Broken collar bone. Igh. I broke my collar bone skiing when I was in H.S. It really sucked...then when it was healed I went back skiing and ended up braking the OTHER one. Some newbie skier hit me with their ski pole as they were flailing themself down the mountain.

That's cool, hopefully you'll be able to get around to toying with it soon. Joel said he's had some problems with text messaging, that some of the key stroke dont register, but he also said maybe he's not hitting the buttons hard enough. That could be it maybe, it happens to me occasionally on my T637, but then again it could be either/or. I've also read elsewhere about people having Bluetooth problems, I'm hoping it's just them not being able to work the phone properly or something and not the phone itself, but if you could let me know when you have the chance I'd really appreciate it! đ

BT works perfectly.
so far i cant send files to my pc (havnt tried the sony software), but i think it's a "services" thing on my pc or just firewalls and such madness. the phone tethered via BT or IR to my lappy gets a speedy 80-90 kbps surfing or 11-12KB/sec dl'ing stuff.
the screen protector was kinda a pain to stick on, but some scotch tape to get off little specks of dust and it's awesome.
dont worry, friend, you'll get your hands on one soon enough.

hard to explain.. u gotta have ur screen spotless then u need to peal the protector off alittle and try to get it perfectly center thern slide it off the paper and on the screen alittle at a time which was much harder then it seemed unfortunetly.. after finishing u hope u have no bubbles
