UMTS

AT&T had just released UMTS in limited areas when Cingular took over. I know it was in Seattle. AT&T had 1 phone that could use UMTS. It was the Motorolla A845. I owned it for a few weeks. It had very good streaming video, but I returned the phone because it was too big and ugly. â˜šī¸

and...Cingular already has the capability to use UMTS in certain areas, they just dont have any UMTS phones. So...it shouldnt be to long from now that we can do 300+ kbps.

The S710a and UMTS have no relation whatsoever.

People were discussing UMTS in a different thread. But... the thread was so long I thought I'd start a new thread.

Isnt UMTS 2100 MHz?

Yes, in Europe. Here in the US the 2100 mhz band is licensed to the Department of Defense. UMTS is already available in select cities here in the US and works under the 1900 mhz band. There are 2 3G phones that support WCDMA 1900.
