Don't know if you all have played with the phone enough, but just in case you were wondering...whether you are NT or MAC, you can transfer full length movies to this phone. Using Mac (which I use) 3 full legnth movies can fit on a single 128 card.

I've heard there's a way to compress the files. My cousin was once looking at a program that did it for his PDA. It is possible.

First and foremost, let me lay out this little disclaimer: copying copyrighted DVDs that you do not own is illegal. Making copies of the ones you already have paid for and own is okay. That said: If you're using an NT system, you can use the tutorial on Howardforums--it is pretty thorough, but I've not tried it as I am mac. Also for NT, there is a company called Makayama that sells one click software to do the trick. A couple of the programs are specifically geared to the s710a. They do have a mac app there, but I haven't tried it and I don't believe it is for DVDs. As for what I've done with the Mac, I use MacTheRipper (downloadable from MacUpdate.com) to rip the DVD to a Video_TS file of the feature only, not the menus, extras, etc. ...

near the bottom, it reads "Ten encode"...it should read "Then encode". Don't want to confuse anyone...

Okay, so you can fit 3 movies on a 128mb stick but the battery will only last long enough to play 3/4 of a movie. LOL

I should say I've used MactheRipper before and have seen movies put on other portable devices in a similar manner and should work.

I can't support the file size claim however since I never saw the file sizes.

I have Empire Strikes Back and The Big Lebowski on my s710a right now, with room to spare. And as for the battery--yes it drains, but I use it in my office, while the charger is plugged in, so no trouble for me there.

The only issue with that is the constant draining/charging will drastically cut the life of the battery.

Not saying it's not worth it to be sucked into a mini-movie theater while at work! 😉

I dont know, Ive always read on here people ranting about draining and charging batteries and how it cuts its life and yadda yadda.

I do so with my battery, I charge it even if its not drained all that much, my battery life is consistant, and its never changed.

Maybe some people are just very picky.

For everyone out there using a PC, I highly reccomend a program called "FairUse". Google it and you should find it no problem. Its really simple, almost better than the apps u pay for. Put the DVD in, select codec, select resolution, select output size and hit go. Give it an hour or so and it spits out a file within 25kb of the output size u gave it.
