A Good Laugh

Hey People,
You know the thread I posted telling you all goodbye, and wishing you well? Well, I accidently posted it in the wrong place, in the Cingular forum by accident. The replies had me cracking up. For some reason, the people in the Cingular forum think it's either funny to follow God, or to have some type of religion period! I wonder what what happened to the Constitution that gave us all a right to choose to be, do, worship, etc anything, one, or group we chose to? Anyway, if you want a quick smile, here's the thread:

There was only 1 comment there that I saw that even mentioned the religios tones to your post, mentioning cultish.

I don't think any of the other comments were geared towards your religion and were more confused about why it was posted there - as you said later in that thread.

Perhaps...still, the replies are funny. Guess you can't make a mistake and post in the wrong place either, huh? Ah, well, at least the s710a forum posters are kind and don't pick on me because I'm the last to get picked for kick ball and because I'm too short to ride the rides at Disneyland.

Hey, didn't someone in here say that they were a Network Admin? I had a question(s) for that person....where are you, Network Admin? Where? Where? Where? Where? *looks around*

Oh, hey there, Dr. Pyro!
I'm going to school for ISS; here is the link to my degree program:

I was wondering, what certifications do you have, if any? I'm studying for a few right now since I don't have any actual work experience other than a year internship at my job. I get my degree next year this time, and I want 2 certs under my belt before I get out to be more marketable. How is the job market where you are (for IT I mean)?

Honestly, I dont have any certifications. I got my job through work experience. I was never big on learning anything computers through school - I've always much preferred tinkering and figuring stuff out on my own. So that is the route i've gone.

It will probably hurt me eventually and I'll have to get a degree but for right now I've got it pretty good.

Ah, I feel you.
Actually, I'm gaining the majority of my knowledge through doing stuff on my own anyway. At school, any labs that you will do will be in a controlled environment. You can't learn in a controlled environment...if things get too tough, just reinstall the OS. You can't take that easy route when your VP needs his laptop yesterday, and the deadline for a report is in 30 minutes.

I'm working on my A+ now, and after that I'm going for Network+. I know most of the stuff on the A+ test; studying just helps me know the proper terms for the components that I know how to fix.

Well, thanks for the response, man. I appreciate you...I'll make sure you get a raise for helping someone out. 😉

You'd be amazed the things I've done to laptops to 'return them from the dead'. One instance of a Thinkpad 600 and a can of pepsi required me to bring out the large tools...a dishwasher. People kept coming to me through the day asking why there were a bunch of laptop parts in the dishwasher in the kitchen.

The machine works fine now and I'm pretty sure it still gets used.

That's the most entertaining story really.

Good luck with your classes - they definately can't hurt as long as you remember that problem solving and logic are the most important skills to have.

I'll hold you to that raise bit...
