RF Quality v. Razr V3
I am going to be buying either the Motorola Razr V3 or the s710. RF capability is probably the most important factor to me. Does anyone know how the s710 compares to the Razr in this regard? The other features seem superior, but reception is really the deal breaker for me. Thanks.

Well I can say that the Nokia 6230 has gotten great refiews for it's RF - at my house the Cingular signal is week and my s710a can hold a call 100% of the time while my wifes 6230 will drop a bunch of calls - enough that she will not use it at home.

I have had the V3 and now own the S710a. Both get very good reception but the SE has better RF. I live in an area where the Cingular signal is weak but Tmobile signal is strong. My Razr took forever to switch onto the Tmobile towers and kept me on the weak Cingular tower 50% of the time. The SE switches must faster to the stronger Tmobile tower in my area. I sold the Rzr and am keeping the S710a due to better RF and all the extra features. It is alot larger phone but worth the $$$.

It is alot larger. You need to compare the thickness of the phones - not just how tall they are when open/closed. The SE feels like holding a small camera when talking on it. The rzr is very light & thin which gives you the feel of a much smaller phone (and it is).
As I stated before I have both (sold the rzr) and like both of them. The RF is better on the SE.

Well, I guess we have a difference in our definitions of "alot"

The S710a sure feels twice as thick as the RAZR even if that's not technically true, so yeah I'd say that's "a lot". 😉
For me, though, that's an advantage. I have huge hands and the RAZR feels uncomfortably delicate when I'm holding it. I like the solid heft of the S710a.
