I haven't tried it but I assume you're using bluetooth. Transfer it to the phone - it will put it on the external memory and then you want to copy to phone. I bet the phone figures out which folder to put it in based on the type of file you are moving. mp3 goes in sound, jpg goes in pictures, etc.

I haven't bothered to try yet tho so I don't know for sure. If you want - email me the game and I can try it.

Okay. Sending game from PC to phone via bluetooth is SOO easy. From the computer (windows xp in this case today) - Send File - select the file - when it finishes sending the file it will ask if you want to put the file in the Games or Applications folder. Select games and you're done.

That said - using the memory stick and USB reader I was unable to get it to work. I copied the game file into the "other" folder on the mem. stick then when i put the mem stick back in the phone told it to move to phone. I found the file in the Other folder on the phone but would not offer option to 'play' just send the file. Best bet is to use bluetooth - USB bluetooth adapters are pretty cheap, like $30 from newegg.

Hope this helps some.

whatz up pyro.. oh here is the scoop.. i dont have the extra 30 bones at the moment or i would have that and the 128MB card lol but no luck for me.. yes the bluetooth transfer is easier but not the only way. as u stated before send the game via your mem stick and u got no pla yoption.. there is only one missing step that needz to happen.. go to the other folder inside your phone of course and hit send via mms to your self. once it arrives u open the mms like normal then right after that u hit the back arrow and it wil say something likemessage has attachments would u like to save.. yes you sure would lo.. it will then ask you where applications folder or games folder .. save it and ur set..

So I have a question:

Everyone keeps talking like the S710a can only use the 128 MB memory stick duo. Are you guys sure that it can't use the memory stick "pro" duo, which you can buy from Sony up to 1 GB???

I'd be interested to know if anyone's tried, as that's what I use in my Sony Cybershot T1 camera and even though it doesn't say it uses the "pro" duo, it works just fine.

The reason I ask is when I get my S710a I want to pick up one of those and put full length movies on it if I can figure out the best way to shrink the file size ...

The phone doesn't recognize anything over 128mb and not pro. I saw a posting online somewhere of a person that tried it. Maybe in the future a firmware update (not holding my breath) will change it though.

Yup. But not a surprise since that's what SE has been saying since day 1.

Hey Pyro-

She may be wrong but I just got an email from our Sony Ericsson rep here in Washington State and she says that it CAN use the memory stick pro duo, since it's the same size. I guess the only way to know for sure is just to try it myself... I hope she is right...

Good luck trying it out. It's not just the size that matters. My digital camera uses Compact Flash cards (among other formats) but it wont take 4gb CF cards but those are the same size.

I think that SE rep was talking out her ass. I'll try and find the article I saw about trying the Pro Duo stuff.

Another way is to host it on a web site with an appropriate jad file and then create a bookmark to hit that link.

That's how I've been loading applications... and at least for me that's a lot easier than the memory stick and/or bluetooth methods.
