first off the expansion slot is for sony memory stick duo's right? what is the max capacity in the SE, from what i see sony sells them up to 1 GB, will the S710A accept that?

Also what is the headphone jack on the S710A? is it one that i can plug any standard headphones in?

overall hows the quality when listening to mp3's...is it decent? and also how loud is it through headphones comapared to a real mp3 player or a cd player?

Max for regular Memory stick duo is 128MB... They skimmed on this feature...You would think since they charged so much freakin $$$ it would support Memory Stic PRO Duo, which can support up to 1 gig... According to there website the W800i is the only phone that supports Memory Stick PRO Duo. I am very sad to see Sony not add Memory Stick PRO Duo to this phone... It would have been the icing on the cake if they did...I guess it's just another marketing skeem... How hard would it have been for them to support Pro for this phone.. Then again if they did, they would charge the customers $600 + for the phone...And the phone doesn't have a normal headphone jack.. It comes w/ special headphones that plugs into the bottom of the phone.. Fits right ...

It takes two years to get a phone from inception to production. Two years ago, people werent thinking about having a gig of memory on their phones. SE already has plans for a product that will support the duo pro technology, but by the time that comes out next year.. we will all be wanting it to be able to use the bigger cards that will be available at that time. Unfortunately, we cant have everything 😈

Still, you would think that adding MS DUO PRO is one of the final steps. That they could of easily change or added this feature on. Look at the W800, it coming out soon in a matter of a few months, wellz, lets hope. But it supports DUO PRO. The S710a has been out here in the states for a few months now, but out in Japan for a lot longer. Still, I think SE had the option, but choose not to go with it, maybe to save money? Still, the prices for DUO PRO are now even cheaper then the regular DUO. What gives? This phone would of been complete if it had DUO PRO support, not that it already isn't. This phone rocks still. Best phone ever!!!!

to use any headset you have to get the headset adpater to use a 2.5 mm port, you can get those at the cingular store, the mp3's sound pretty goodo n the phone and also on the headset.

Do you know where I could get a 3.5mm port adapter though? I really want to use other headsets just for listening to mp3s instead. Thanks.

BTW, I wish SE would make a headset that would like you control the music from a seperate adaptor, that would be nice plus have volume control cause I like my music louder. I'm saying this only cause of all the mp3 phones out there right now and that are coming out. Maybe I should work for SE..hehe 😁
