i'd like to get this phone and a plan with Cingular, but their website has it listed for $400!!!

ouch! is there any deals out there, rebates or anything like that? my cousin-in-law is a dealer, do you all think he could get me some kind of discount or something???

thanks!

Or you could try and catch a deal on eBay. I got mine brand new for $350.

Hero, amazon does have it cheaper, but in the options for plans, there's no option for the early night time minutes. i was hoping to go for a anytime 600 plan with rollover, and add the early night option so i can get unlimited minuted from 7:00pm on.

I think i'm gonna give my cousin a call, he works at a cingular store, i'm hoping i can get it for under 300 with a plan...

You can get the plan, then later call Cingular and add that onto your plan after you get your phone.

Yeah but what if you already have cingular and want to get it off amazon? I dont have a contract at the moment, but dont want to lose my number OR the rebates with amazon.

Well, you can buy the phone alone from Amazon for I believe $500, which is $50 cheaper than buying it outright from Cingular.

You won't lose your number or anything, you just buy the phone and pop in your SIM card into it and you're ready to go.

Yes, you can put Java games on it as long as they are made to cellular phones (J2ME).

Do you know of Bluetooth wireless technology? If you buy a Bluetooth USB adapter, you could send things from your computer to your phone (and vice vera) all wirelessly.

Data cable would suffice as well though.

i thought about getting a bluetooth adapter, since i have USB 1.0 on my computer, would bluetooth be faster or slower than USB 1.0?

plus i need to look for a bluetooth adapter that would be something other than USB (maybe PCI? not sure if they make a bluetooth adapter that connects via a PCI slot...), otherwise i've gone full circle, and since a cable costs 20-25 bucks or less, i might go that route...

Bluetooth capacity is 721 Kbps/sec.
USB1.1 capacity is 12Mbits/sec.

If you dont want to use a USB adapter your other option is to find a PC card (PCMCIA) bluetooth adapter and a desktop PCI card that will handle these cards.

Finding a PCMCIA card isn't REAL easy but they ara available - most are a bluetooth Compactflash card with a pc card adapter.

Oh, and you'd be spending like $100 for those things. Go with USB if you can do it...if you don't have enough USB ports - go w/ a hub and send the remaining $50 to me! :-)
