Memory Stick Drivers?

Does anyone know if there are special drivers for the Memory Stick Duo/Adapter so that it will work in other card readers? My HP notebook has a built in card reader that works just fine on SD and MMC cards, but it does not recognize my Memory Stick Duo in the adapter. (my machine does accept MS products, this is just the first I have ever owned).
The MS reader included with the phone works just fine, but I would prefer to use my built-in hardware for sake of convenience.
Sony's support page is awful- too much FAQ and not enough actual help.
Has anyone else had difficulty getting the MS to read in their other, non-Sony, card readers?

There are no drivers for the MS adapter. If you are running Win XP then it should register automatically in windows. If it doesn't register, you may have a problem with the MS part of the reader in your laptop.

Try getting your hands on a regular MS from a camera and trying that to see if it works.

If anyone else has had this problem, it is related to my computer, not the MS. Apparently HP released it without it being able to read MS/MS Pro even though it says it can.. I downloaded the patch, but that still doesnt work. Oh well- external reader isn't that bad and as a bonus I can now read CF cards..

Kinda figured it was an HP hardware issue rather than a software issue...good thing SE includes the USB reader, huh?
