hello, i just switched from nextel to cingular and
got a s700a phone. so far it's pretty cool, a little
more complicated than i thought but cool.

what type of ringers does this phone use ?
midi, .wav, etc. ?

can i simply load them to the memory stick and
use them as ringers ?

I have not tried midis or waves because it can take an mp3. yes you can load an mp3 on the mem stick and use it as a ringer. Its very easy to do. When you use an mp3 as a ringer its LOUD.

What you have to do is go to My Media then Sounds and it should pop up there. From there you can move it to the phone from the Mem Stick. Either way all you have to do is highlight it, click more, then use, then as ringtone and thats it! 😎

songs have to be saved to your phone to be used as a ringtone.

Go to Manage files and Move to phone

Not necessarily. You can use them off of the memory stick. Thats the way I use mine.

The same way you would use it if it were on the phone. Highlight it then hit more--> use--> as ringtone... and there you go. I just checked it to make sure I was hallucinating and it does work.

Keep in mind though, when you remove the memory stick the ringtones will erase from the individual user and you'll have to re-assign them all over again.
