for some reason, games i put on my phone yesterday don't work today...?!?

here's what i did:
i have a game on my computer, i took the memory card out of the phone, put it in my computer, saved the game to my mem stick, put the mem stick back in the phone, and then sent a multimedia message to myself with the game attached.

i checked a bunch of them (but not all), and they were working fine last night, but this morning all they do is display the java logo, and then say "Invalid application"

i don't have bluetooth or high speed internet (stuck on 56k until DSL moves out here 😡 ) but i do have a PSP. i tried to use the IR and had a few games on the PSP's memory stick, but they wouldn't show up on the PSP screen, and i could never ge...

First off, when you are sending games to your phone via MMS. Don't send it to yourself, it is gonna count as 2 MMS. Instead, send it to another person phone if they don't mind getting the game as well or to your email address or whatever. After it is sent, go to your SENT ITEMS, then press MORE on the msg, there is an option to SAVE ITEM, here is where you would save the game file that you just sent. This way, you would avoid having to receive another MMS just to get the game, save you on the DL time as well. Basically, there is no point to send it to yourself, your just wasting your memory and time.

As for the invalid app issues. I'm getting it too, but my games would last a good week or so. I don't mind I guess, since I get bored...

what about transferring them via bluetooth?
does that do anything different?
i just can't believe that these games only work for an amount of time... if i bought one of the games from cingular direct, they'd never do this, so what's different?

Yeah, you should be able to with BT as wellz. I'm not sure bout this since I don't have BT, if you could send file directly to the phone's mem or the mem card when its in phone itself. Wellz I think that that when you DL games directly off Cingular, then I'm guessing that you would get that error due to DL a valid and paid game. They must of done something with either the game or this phone to recognize a free game vs a paid one.

ok, after work, i'm gonna buy a bluetooth adapter, and see if i get a different result.

also....i loaded one game using the "sending it to somebody else" trick, and i checked this afternoon, and the game still works... not sure why, but i hope to get this figured out.
