Text msg issues.

Had my phone for about a week now, when I first starting using the text msg option all was well. No when someone text's me I get 4-5 of the same messages from the same person. Then like 30 minutes later if they typed something different I get 4-5 of their next text'd msgs.

WTF is going on? Any insight or help would be much appreicated...I'm about to return my phone to cingular. 😢

woah, that's weird... i've never have that happen to me before.

sounds like something's up with the network maybe? does it always take so long to send a text message? because i can send a text message to a friend, and get one back within a minute or 2...

have you tried to send a multimedia message? give that a shot and see what happens

It doesn't happen when I send text msg's...Only when I recieve them.
I get one instant...Then 3 minutes later I get a repeate of the same message 2-3 more times...Then 20 minutes later if they text'd something else I'll get that new message then.

That's not an s710 issue, it's a Cingular issue. I've had the same thing happen to me, on a different phone. I can only offer this advice: take the battery out, let it sit for about 2 minutes, then put it back in. Try to see if that fixes the problem. If you feel as if the 'extra' text messages are eating away at your available text messages, then contact Cingular and inform them of what's happening, and that you do not want to be charged extra for text messaging overage.

You aren't charged for multiple messages. If one happens to send 3-4 times you will only be charged once. I work for cingular we get that at least 2-3 times a day.
