3/32" to 1/8" adaptor

I want to hook up my 8940 to my stereo system to play the MP3's. So I go to RadioShack and pick up the adaptor to go from the phone to the standard 1/8" mini headphone jack, then to RCA left/right plugs to the stereo. It kinda works. First problem is that the plug doesn't like to stay all the way in because of the little rubber cap on the phone. It gets in the way and kind of forces the plug out. If I get luck it will stay in 50% of the time.
The second problem is that it doesn't play in stereo. Something about the connections in the plug in the phone (with the microphone part); I only get mono sound from the left channel.
Does anyone know of a different adaptor to get stereo sound from the phone to a stereo. And I really don't want to remove the rubber cap from headphone plug.
Anyone else crazy as I am??
