Hi Guys.
Im going to leave verizon and get this phone when available in the store. I have looked at the plans and decided to go with their area-wide 1000 miniutes for 45bucks. I live in Seattle, Wa and I heard a few complaints about people having problems with Sprint and when their phone breaks on them. The advice that Im seaking is about Sprints phone insurance and the best way to protect my new investment.Any any other advice that might benieft me the basic customer with little knowledge of what Sprint will offer me.

thanks guys! I could use all the help I can get. 🙂

Well...hopefully this will help a little bit. I am not a current user of their phone insurance. I've always purchased my phones at Best Buy along with their service plan to protect the phone. IM NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN! Best Buy DOES NOT cover for accidental damage! Now, I didn't think I needed that...until I accidentally broke both LCD screens on my phone! So, basically from Best Buy's point of view...I'm SOL! After looking into Sprint's insurance plan at $4 -$5/month...which incidentally DOES cover for accidental damage...I will indeed be signing up for that after I'm able to fork out the $450 for the new 5600! For a mere $60/year you're entitled to 2 replacements. The fine print is you have to pay an additional $50 for each claim, and the ...

Yo, rambofone, I work for the insurance company, and I can tell you that the program is worth it if you have an expensive phone. My boyfriend had the same issue with BEST BUY and his 5500, and when he bought the plan they told him he could drop his phone from a 4 story building, and as long as he brought a piece of the phone in the store, they'd replace it right there. He actually broke a hinge, and was denied any help. Our insurace is 5.00 a month, and is called Total Equipment Protection. You can run over the phone drop it in water etc. and as long as you're not one of the dummies that calls in and says you did it on purpose because you were mad (called intentional damages), or give a date of when it happened over 60 days old, you'll get a...

Hey One,

I work for sprint and have a several customers with bust lcd and hinges broken in half, not cracked but broken off of the phone from excessive force that Lockline has sent back to the store for ewp after we had told the customer it was void and would have to be replaced thru erp. What wording do we need to advise customers to help out. This seems to be a new issue so I'm guessing there was a policy change we weren't told about. Thanks for your help.

YAYO, I hate to break the bad news, but if the claim has been opened for more than 60 days, the claim will close itself and a rep or mgr. can't re-open it. Make sure you give a different type of loss and a date within 60 days if you already reported it. Now, you will receive an 8200, even if it's on backorder.(5-7 biz days at the longest). The phone is in a class by itself, since it has the spkrphone, readylink and camera. Any other phone would have to be an uprade to avoid downgrading you, and sprint tries to stay away from that. The one thing I can say is more than likely you'll get a recon. 8200, and the color won't be guaranteed. I hope this helps.

Unfortunately, no. It would be ideal for you to be able to, but the stores don't have the inventory to handle insurance issues, so the phones come from a warehouse and ship in 3 biz days. Overnight isn't available, even if you're willing to pay for it. Yes, I know that sucks. 🤭
